Avoidant and Anxious Avoidant Attachment Style
The last two attachment styles that I will be writing about are avoidant and anxious avoidant attachment style. They are very similar in style and also formed similarly. Like the other attachment styles, anxious and anxious avoidant style is often formed during childhood. Caregivers often set the tone for how children attach to others. These symptoms often look like, a need to depend on others, fearing rejection or fear of being abandoned, seeking approval or validation, easily overwhelmed, rejecting/avoiding emotions, and a hard time trusting others. Theses symptoms are just to name a few. (information was used from Psych Central)
No matter the case, if you are in relationship, whether intimate or friendship and you are having some emotional struggles, pay close attention to why. I encourage anyway who is having a hard time relating to others to seek professional guidance and get a better understanding of their needs. Healthy relationships are one the most important things we need because they provide love, support and a sense of belonging.
Take Care,
Gwena’e
