During this series, I would like to highlight the different attachment styles. Attachment Theory was created by John Bowlby and expanded by Mary Ainsworth. The theory focuses on the idea that attachment is formed during childhood with a caregiver. Further, the theory explains that how a child attaches to their caregiver will effect their relationships throughout their life. According to the Bowlby, there are four attachment styles, which include Secure, Avoidant, Anxious and Disorganized Attachments. In each post, I’m going to highlight what each attachment style is and how it is demonstrated in one’s relationship.
